The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) also joined the Baltimore police in their response to the incident. The collaboration between law enforcement agencies aimed to ensure the safety of the Morgan State University community and bring the situation under control.
As the investigation unfolded, it was revealed that the shooter had fired shots from a dorm window. An image of a shattered window with a bullet hole was shared by a reporter and confirmed by the police to be the location where the gunman had been shooting from.

In the aftermath of the incident, Baltimore City Council Member Ryan Dorsey provided some information, stating that there were five victims with non-critical injuries. It was believed that three shooters were involved, but they had not been apprehended or identified at that time.[7]
